The staff at Harlan Elementary are dedicated to student learning and student achievement. They eagerly participate in numerous professional development opportunities and activities at the building, district and county level. Our school provides a rigorous curriculum that meets the varying needs of our students.

• One of 50 elementary schools in the state of Michigan named as a 21st Century Library-Exemplary Status by the Library of Michigan.
• Students offered accelerated mathematics opportunities for all who qualify in grades 1-5.
• Spanish instruction for all students beginning in grade two
• Students are offered numerous opportunities to engage in technology and have access to a computer lab, laptops, iPads, Interactive Overhead Projectors, flip cameras, Wikis and Skype.

All learners are given opportunities to participate in classroom service learning, and school-wide community service activities that help others. With each community service project, we include education about the issue and organization that we are helping. Service learning projects are long-term classroom activities and tied to the curriculum.
