Blair Klco (pronounced “kel-so”) joined Harlan Elementary as a principal in Aug. 2023. She began her career in Wellesley, Mass. teaching multiple grade levels for four years. She then traveled to Switzerland for four years where she was a classroom teacher, Curriculum & Technology Director and eventually the assistant headmaster. Upon returning to the US, Mrs. Klco served as the assistant principal and principal for the Upper Elementary School in the Charlotte Public Schools for two years and then the Principal of Miller Elementary in the Plymouth Canton Community Schools for seven years.
Mrs. Klco has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Boston College, a Masters of Arts in Education in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University, and is working on her Doctorate at Michigan State University in K-12 Education Administration. She grew up internationally in Singapore and Hong Kong before her family settled in Birmingham allowing her to attend both Covington and Seaholm. Mrs. Klco and her family enjoy any activities outside from spending time at the lake in the summer and skiing in the winter with family and friends. She is excited to be back in the community and a part of the Birmingham Pubic Schools and the Harlan Family.
